Ahrens were engaged by Barada to design and construct a groundbreaking new AFL-themed play centre at the Adelaide Airport, an idea that was the brainchild of football-great James Podsiadly.

The 5,000m2 indoor sporting facility features multiple AFL-themed zones including a kick zone, a bump zone, a tackle and testing zone, a trampoline zone and a climb zone. Other key features of the facility include virtual reality games, as well as a cafe with a grandstand feel that contains a 28m2 television screen for the purpose of showcasing live football.

The facility contains state-of-the-art sporting and play equipment provided by Jedi Leisure, and is also available for groups and functions. Ahrens were proud to have delivered a worldclass facility for the client, which will hopefully be the first of many more of its kind.
